Because the time jumped around a bit, it felt like the transition to Audrey breaking up with Evan to hearing the song on the radio was instantaneous when in reality it was nearly six months between the two events. At times the structure was effective because it cut out big periods of time where nothing was happening but in other places it felt like Audrey was jumping from one relationship to another without any real time to process what was happening to her.
