Oppenheimer once said (in response to the number of particles being discovered) that the Nobel prize might end up going to the person who discovers *no* particle. I think he was right… particles are just an illusion. All particles (and therefore all mass) are really just self-propagating energy bundles… the photon is one such bundle (closely related to the electron) with very little measurable mass, yet mass none the less.
