MB 119 Spring 2000
Student Biographies

Meredith Brown

Hi there MB119! My name is Meredith Brown. I am a senior in the School of Management, double majoring in Finance and General Management (Accounting and Human Resources concentrations). Only one semester left...where has the time gone? I hail all the way from Northern California, and even though I still consider myself a California girl at heart, I have not regretted my decision to attend BC for a second (despite this freezing cold weather). I love Boston and have made the greatest friends! In fact, I have accepted a position in the Accounting/Finance department of Gillette next year, located right here in Boston, for which I am very excited. These four years have gone by so fast that I am just not ready to go back to California quite yet. I studied abroad two semesters ago in Perth, Australia, and simply had the best time of my life! I love the sun and beach, and am very adventurous, so Australia was definitely the place for me. I saw the most amazing sights including waterfalls, the mountains, the beach, the outback, and occupied my time bungee jumping, white water rafting, canyoning, scubadiving, visiting wild life parks, and more. I don't know when, but I am definitely going back at some point. In the meantime, I just want to enjoy my final semester at BC before it is time for the real world...there's lots of fun to be had!

Michelle DiLisi

Hello Everyone, My name is Michelle DiLisi and I am from yet another small town in New Jersey. However I live in the more southern part of the state, in a little town called Pitman. My major is Human Resources within the Management school, and I am currently searching for internships related to that field for the summer. Some things that I do here at Boston College, is that I am an RA for 60 freshmen girls in Fenwick Hall. It's definitely been an adjustment with all the extra added responsibilities, but it has also been an incredible experience. I also am in the University Chorale here at BC and on Wednesdays I am a tutor for the Kids on Campus Program. I also love to travel, because I have a lot of family in Italy, and I also love to cook ( if you didn't guess my specialty, well it's Italian foods). Other than that, I have two brothers, one younger and one older, and even though I love them dearly, I must say that I was relieved when I had the opportunity to return to school after break. Well I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, and here is joke just for a little laugh.

Did you hear about the new restaurant on the moon? Yeah, supposedly it has great food, but no atmosphere!! Ha ha, I know its bad, but bear with me.

Paige Harden

My name is Paige Harden.  I am a Junior living off campus on Commonwealth Av.  I was abroad last semester and went to Sydney and had a great time.  Australia is beautiful, and I would recommend anyone who has to the chance to visit it to do so.  I am majoring in Human Development with a focus in Organizational Behavior and have a Human Resources minor.  I am from Connecticut, but also call New Orleans home.  Look forward to meeting everyone this semester.

Beth McGuire

Hello everyone, my name is Beth McGuire. I am a senior in CSOM majoring in HR Management. I am originally from a town called North Attleboro, MA which is about 45 minutes away and borders Rhode Island. Let's see, I absolutely hate the cold so although I have no idea what I am going to be doing for a job after graduation, it will have to be either south or west of here, and require sun tan lotion throughout most of the year. Before that can happen, though, I am driving across the country (and back) with my 18 year old sister so I am psyched about that. I guess the two things I really love are running, which I do everyday, and music. There is nothing like live music so I go to a ridiculous amount of concerts. I've always thought music is a great way to learn about somebody so I'll tel you all a little about my musical preference. Although lately my taste has been leaning to JAMN 94.5 or "trip-hop," the majority of my cds would be considered alternative or acoustic rock. My two favorite cds are Dave Matthews' Under the Table and Dreaming and Jeff Buckley's Grace. The best concert I've ever been to, though, was definitely Springsteen!! Well, I guess that is it. I'm looking forward to reading all of your bios and the semester.

Jen Rath

Hi, I'm Jen Rath and I am a Senior Marketing and Human Resources double major. I am originally from a small town in New Jersey (like half of the BC population!) and plan to return there after graduation where I hope to work in the field of Marketing Research. (For those of you who are familiar with New Jersey, I live in Totowa, near Wayne and Paterson.) I love to travel and I am hoping my job will allow me to take a cruise to the Western Caribbean with my boyfriend, Joe, next spring. I have only been on a cruise once before, but I had the time of my life and I can't wait to go again. Joe and I met on the 4th of July at a friend's 21st birthday and we've been together over a year and a half. I also have a younger sister who is a Freshman here at BC. So, after I graduate and really miss BC, I can come and visit her and re-live the whole experience. I just have to pick a year when we play ND at home so I can see them lose again!! Well, I am looking forward to meeting all of you and reading your bios. I hope we all (especially Seniors) enjoy this semester.

Claire Starling

Hi! My name is Claire Starling. I am originally from Madison, Wisconsin (the 1998 Money Magazine #1 place to live in America, and the home of the 2000 Rose Bowl Champions!!). I am a senior here at BC, majoring in Human Development, minoring in Human Resources Management, and concentrating in Pre-Law. I swam my first two years here, but decided to go abroad to Florence, Italy second semester last year, so quit swimming to travel and study in Europe and don't regret my decision one bit!! I am now training for the Boston Marathon for exercise, wish me luck!! I took my LSAT's in October and plan on going to Law school in 2001, hopefully at University of Minnesota, or University of Wisconsin, I would like to do public defense for battered women. Next year, I am planning on Volunteering in San Francisco through Jesuit Volunteer Corps, I am not sure what my placement will be yet. Currently I work at Internet Securities, a start-up internet company in downtown Boston. It is really fun, and working in the corporate world has been a good experience for me. I hate thinking about this being my last semester at BC, I have really enjoyed my time here but look forward to the up coming months and to this class.
