Objective: To become able to test a variety of network hypotheses (i.e., assess statistical associations among different kinds of network variables).
1. Dyadic-Dyadic Hypothesis. Correlate two relations on the same data. Use the Padgett dataset. Split into to separate files, one for marriage ties and one for business ties. Now use QAP Regression to predict business ties from marriage ties.
2. Endogamy Hypothesis. Test the idea that boys talk mainly to boys and girls mainly to girls, using either the dichotomized camp92 data, or your own data. Do this first by manually creating idealized dataset containing 1s for all girl-girl and boy-boy cells, and 0s elsewhere and then qapping against the observed ties. Then repeat this using the categorical autocorrelation procedure.
